Anna (Sherman) Duphiney, 87, of Swansea died peacefully, with her family by her side, Friday, August 3, 2012 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was wife of the late David Duphiney.
Born in Westport, daughter of the late Roger D. and Olive A. (Hart) Sherman, she grew up and lived in Westport until moving to Swansea in 1971. Prior to retirement, she was an administrator for the former General Cotton in Fall River and had also worked at Fall River Electric. She loved dachshunds and was a member of the New England Kennel Club. Mrs. Duphiney volunteered at the Lizzie Borden Museum and the Westport Historical Society, and had been a curator of the New Bedford Whaling Museum. She was loved and will be missed by many.
Survivors include 2 step-daughters: Dianne Marsh of VA and Donna McCutcheon of Pawtucket, RI; a brother: Russell Sherman and his wife Evelyn of Madison, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at the Potter Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Monday 5 – 8 P.M.
Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery, Westport.
