Clara Pacheco, age 95 of Swansea, passed away on March 17, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late John Pacheco Sr. and the daughter of the late Manuel P. & Maria (Alexander) Moniz. Prior to retiring, Mrs. Pacheco worked as a Sewing Machine Operator for the former Stella-Ann Frocks. She was a parishioner of St. Dominic’s Church in Swansea.

Clara is survived by her two daughters: Nancy A. Teves, husband Jeff of Swansea and Clara M. Fallon, her late husband Maurice; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, & several nieces & nephews. She was the mother of the late John Pacheco Jr. & Clara Ann Pacheco.

Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on WEDNESDAY here at 7:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Dominic’s Church, GAR Highway, Swansea at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours on TUESDAY from 4-8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Casa Corazón de le Misericordia, c/o Sisters of Mercy, 15 Highland View Rd., Cumberland, RI 02864.

Eileen V. (Ferreira) Garrant, age 75, of Swansea passed away March 18, 2012. She was the wife of the late Richard E. Garrant and daughter of the late Joseph M. & Gertrude (Ponte) Ferreira. Eileen worked at the former Rudy’s Country Store as a food handler. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, yard work, Bingo & the Boston Red Sox.

Eileen was the mother of Dorie Nunes of Swansea, grandmother of Leah & Lauren Nunes of Swansea, sister of Dorothy Guay of Swansea, Kathleen Santos & Monica Joaquim both of Fall River, Joseph Ferreira Jr. & Antone Ferreira both of Swansea, the late Dolores Costa, and aunt to many nieces & nephews.

Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St., Fall River FRIDAY at 9:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Louis de France Church, Swansea at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours THURSDAY 5-9 P.M.

DIGHTON – Clinton E. Rose, husband of Adele M. (Torres) Rose of Dighton, died at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River on Sept. 24, 2012.
He was 89.
Born in Rehoboth, he was the son of the late Manuel and Martha (Daley) Rose.
A lifelong resident of the area, Mr. Rose was educated in Rehoboth and Swansea schools, and was a graduate of Case High School.
An Army Veteran of WWII, he fought with the 28th Infantry in many battles, including the Battle of the Bulge.
For over sixty years, he owned and operated Dighton’s former Red & White Market on Main St.
He retired four years ago.
A communicant of St. Patrick Church in Somerset, Mr. Rose was a member of the St. Vincent De Paul Society, and was a life member of the former Raposa-Knott VFW Post 2094 of N. Dighton.
He was Veteran of the Year in 2006.
In addition to his wife of 66 years, he leaves a son, Michael S. Rose and his wife Nancy of Dighton; two brothers, Robert Rose of Rehoboth and Henry Rose of Swansea; two sisters, Evelyn Bois of Rehoboth and Jeanette Jacques of Taunton; four grandchildren, Kathleen, Michelle, Michael, and Lauren Rose; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Lester Rose and Dorothy Borges.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Friday, Sept. 28th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Patrick Church, Somerset at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at the MA National VA Cemetery in Bourne.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Sept. 27th from 4 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, P.O. Box 113, Somerset, MA 02726.
